We survived the blizzard. I'm glad I was working so I didn't have any plans for Christmas. Others who had Christmas off had to sit at home watching the snow fall rather than doing whatever they had planned. It's a very unfamiliar looking world with the snow piled high and many landmarks buried. Now I have one day off, then back to work for two twelve hour shifts, then four days off. I can't wait.

Well, we're battening down the hatches preparing for a winter storm that is predicted to be ten to twenty inches of snow. Somebody remind me why I live in the midwest, please. I'm scheduled to work four twelve hour shifts starting tomorrow. If I make it to work, I'll probably be stuck there, so I need to pack a bag. A book is a must-have and some kind of craft project that's portable. I'll probably just take some thread and crochet more flowers. Here's hoping everybody has a happy holiday.....

Work, sleep, get up and do it again, that's what my life has been reduced to. I finally got something done. No, don't get excited, I didn't get my house cleaned. But I did get some cards done. I have to find an outlet for these cards, because I can't seem to quit making them. The pictures don't show it, but I used 3-d techniques to make these little girls that I got from Linniepink. I've been so busy that I forgot to open my package that holds the winter kit from Magnolia. I better go get them mounted and stamp some more images. Just what I need, more images........

Ok, I've been back at work three days, is it too soon for a vacation? I need to collect some of my cards off the dining room table and list them. I just keep making them and making them. I got some new digital stamps from Linniepink that I'm anxious to use. I'll try to remember to post them here when they're done. It's hard to stop long enough to take photos and post.

I'm coming to you from sunny Sarasota, Florida. It's beautiful here and the best thing is, I don't have to go to work. The bad thing is, every day brings the end of vacation closer. Yeah, I'm a glass-half-empty girl. It will be nice to get home and make some more cards and list the ones I have on ebay. Better Than Doing Laundry is also having an auction of Christmas cards made by the group members. Of course, I made some of my LinniePink cards for that. Well, off to play golf.

I'm in countdown mode. I'm off tomorrow, work Tuesday and officially on vacation on Wednesday. So by Wednesday evening, we'll be in Jefferson City, Mo. visiting Jody, Kristen and Ashtyn, and on Thursday morning, we'll be off to Sarasota, Florida. I really need to get packed, and try to get the house straightened up before we leave. maybe tomorrow......

I am so happy. In nine days, we will be leaving for Florida for our vacation. Of course, we'll stop and spend the first night with Ashtyn in Missouri. I found the neatest site for digital images and made some more 3d decoupage cards. The site is Linnepink and the stamps are Daisy May. I love these stamps and can't get enough of them. Be watching for more photos, I got some angel stamps, too, and almost have those cards done.

I am so sad. We had to come back early from Missouri because Jim got the flu and we didn't want to expose the kids. So we missed a day with Ashtyn, but hopefully we left soon enough to keep her from getting sick. We'll be going back for a day in two weeks as we take off for our annual vacation to Florida. Oh, dear, I'd better start getting something ready to take with me to work on. Hmmmmm.......what to take, what to take.......
Thursday, October 15, 2009
I am so happy, I just worked three twelve hour shifts and am now off for four days. We're going to Missouri to see our grandbaby.....can't wait. Of course, I have to take something with me to work on, so I'm going to take my metallic thread and crochet some more metallic flowers. I wish there was some way to take my copics and work on my decoupage, but I think that would be a little unwieldy. I'd better go put my clothes in the dryer so I have a coat to wear tomorrow. It's so cold.......I hate winter.

I finally got some cards listed on Ebay. I have so many cards finished or partially finished, I need to get rid of some of them. I am loving doing 3D decoupage on my cards and right now, can't imagine doing anything else. I just wish I could take pictures that would show the dimensionality on the cards. In fact, I wish I could take pictures......period. My camera is really giving me fits. I'm sure it is something simple but I can't figure out the solution. When I try to transfer pictures, I can only transfer some of them. So when I take pictures, I have to take several of each "pose" to assure that one of them transfers, and that doesn't always work either. What to do, what to do........

Today is a sad day. I've had two days off and I return to work tomorrow. Three twelve hour shifts this weekend. I'll be dragging by sunday night. Sorry to keep whining about going to work, it seems to be a continuing theme here. I did get my hair cut yesterday and I believe I look at least ten years younger. I'm hoping it makes me feel younger. We'll see. I plan to spend today making more 3d decoupage cards, can't get enough of them. And I think I have an order coming from Creative Play stamps.....yippee. I got my flower soft from Michelle's Scrapbooking and More and am anxious to play with that. So it will be a busy day. oh, here are some new cards I've done using Chelsea's Gurlee Girl stamps.

I am so proud of my new cards. I used my gorjuss girl stamps.......love them.......crocheted some flowers out of my new metallic thread, and used the 3-d decoupage technique. I think they turned out so pretty. Right now, these are listed on ebay, and I'm in the process of making some more with a variety of stamps. Stay tuned.........
I'm also proud that I figured out how to add images. It's as easy as using the "add images" button. Who knew????

My last day this week. I am so happy!! Only thirteen more hours and I'll have the weekend off. I think I can make it. My house desperately needs cleaning, I need to list some more things on ebay, and I have some images that are calling my name to be colored. I'm also expecting some metallic crochet thread for making some more flowers. I'm really anxious to get that because I think the flowers will be awesome. Did you notice the flowers on the magnolia card to the right?

Well, here we go again. another week, another dollar seventy-five. I'm working four days in a row this week. For those of you who regularly work five days in a row, I'm working one eight hour and three twelve hour shifts. and I'm old. So I will definitely be ready for a weekend off. If you're interested, check out chelsea's blog, Crafting Life's Pieces. I used 3d decoupage with one of her stamps and she posted the card. That is the highest compliment.

My newest passion
is 3d decoupage. Couple that with a magnolia image, and you have my newest card. Unfortunately, the photos do not show the 3d-ness of the card, but I can see it, so it's all good.

Oh, my, I am so glad to have some days off. It seems as if I have been working forever. Twelve hour shifts are killing me. Now I need some motivation to clean my house. It doesn't seem to be coming but I'll give it a few more hours. I really think I could be much more creative in a tidy space, but I haven't had a chance to prove that. I received two of Chelsea's Gurly Girl stamps and am having so much fun coloring. This really takes me back to my childhood. Love the stamps, chel!! Well, I'm off to seek motivation.....

Wow, this interior decorating of a blog is very hard. I thought I needed to do some work on my blog, so I'm trying to change some things. I followed the directions, I think, but it's not working. Go figure. Ok, so back to square one. I am determined to do this, but I better step away from the computer and get something tangible accomplished today. Cleaning toilets comes to mind.....but, nah, I think I should probably color some more gorguss girls.

here's something that's been bothering me.
I heard on the news that the Obamas are going to redecorate the living quarters of the White House. HELLO.......have they not heard of the national deficit. I think they should come out onto the portico and say something like, "Because of our uncertain economy, we have decided to tighten our belts like you, our fellow Americans, and leave the White House the way it is, even though it is a hovel." Why am I, Sandy Q. Public, unable to redecorate my house because of my budget, and meanwhile, my tax dollars are being spent to do a totally unnecessary job of redecorating the living quarters of the White House? Bastards!!

Well, we're back from Kansas City and seeing the kids and the grandangel. She is growing so fast and so much cuter in person. She has reached the stage where we are strangers....I just hope that is over soon. Maybe I should make a life sized poster of us to send to them so they could set it in her bedroom. I start a long stretch of working tomorrow, and I'm not looking forward to it. I would much rather be home scrapping and stamping. I have some great pictures of Ashtyn, so I need to start an album for her. Yes, I know, you would think I would already have several albums done of her, but I am the great procrastinator and seldom scrap for myself.
